The main goal is to maintain price and macroeconomic stability.
Modern.az reports that Taleh Kazimov, Chairman of the Board of the Central Bank, stated this at a press conference dedicated to the announcement of the decision on the parameters of the interest rate corridor.
He noted that if any exchange rate regime is considered more favorable for the implementation of the existing mandate, activities will continue in that direction.
The Chairman added that currently, a stable exchange rate regime is considered more appropriate in terms of ensuring price and macroeconomic stability:
“At the current stage, there is no approach or plan to change the exchange rate regime. For this reason, the stable exchange rate regime is supported and this policy will continue,” T. Kazimov emphasized.
