The venue for the next congress of the Azerbaijan Cinematographers Union (ACU) has been announced.
Ali Isa Jabbarov told Modern.az about this.
He noted that the congress will be held on May 26 at 2:00 PM in the Rotunda Hall of the Landmark Hotel.
No additional guests will be invited to the event:
"Only members are planned to attend the event. The event will be open to the press."
It should be recalled that People's Artist Rasim Balayev, who chaired the Azerbaijan Cinematographers Union since 2022, passed away on March 29, 2026, at the age of 77, in a hospital where he was receiving treatment in Turkey. For this reason, a new candidate will be elected to the chairmanship of the ACU.
It is noted that there are two candidates for the chairman post. One of them is People's Artist Shafika Mammadova, who was the first chairman of the newly established Azerbaijan Republic Cinematographers Union in 2012, and the other is Ali Isa Jabbarov, secretary of the Azerbaijan Cinematographers Union and director.
