Due to the large number of non-working days in May and the WUF13 event being held in Azerbaijan, university programs are expected to conclude earlier this year.

Modern.az reports that in connection with the World Urban Forum to be held in our country starting from May 17, teaching in vocational, secondary specialized and higher education institutions located in Baku will be organized remotely (distance) from May 18 to 22.

In addition, there will be 4 non-working days in the last week of May due to Eid al-Adha and Independence Day. For this reason, classes will be held in educational institutions only on May 25 and 26 of that week.
As a result, although classes will be held in traditional form until the end of next week in May, they will be online from the 18th to the 22nd, and traditional classes will continue for only 2 days the following week. 

According to Elmin Nuri, Executive Director of AzEdu Education Platform, researcher-expert on education issues, who commented on the issue to our website, in such cases, serious problems may arise when students focus on the educational process and direct their attention to practical issues as well as theoretical lessons:

E. Nuri noted that the transition of universities to distance learning in an international event such as the World Urban Forum is understandable and should be accepted as natural. However, the second side of the issue, integrating into the educational process for only two days after the holiday break at the end of the month, will be very difficult for some students:
