"We plan to prioritize more multidisciplinary specialties. That is, we are talking not only about specialties covering a single field, but about programs formed at the intersection of various specialties."

Modern.az reports that these thoughts were noted by the rector of Azerbaijan State University of Economics, Professor Adalat Muradov, while answering questions from AzEdu.az.

"At the same time, we pay special attention to personnel training in areas such as digitalization, artificial intelligence, and cybersecurity, which are currently in high demand in the labor market.

We have not increased the number of students at the bachelor's level in our university for several years, and we do not plan to increase it. Instead, we prioritize re-higher education, that is, the concept of lifelong learning. We believe that there is a need for fundamental changes in the rules regarding the organization of re-higher education."

The number of those studying for a master's degree at our university has increased:

"One of our other priority areas is master's education. For your information, in the last ten years, the bachelor-master ratio at UNEC has changed approximately twofold, and the share of master's students has significantly increased. This is the result of our university's strategic vision. The increase in the number of master's students brings our higher education institution closer to the research university model.

We have already started cooperation with one of the foreign technology companies in the direction of applying artificial intelligence in education since August of last year. We plan to introduce our first artificial intelligence-based product to students in September.

In the next stage, we will work on preparing exam questions through artificial intelligence, and then evaluating the answers to those questions by artificial intelligence. In addition, the preparation of syllabuses and teaching materials through artificial intelligence is also among the planned innovations.

Today, we witnessed an important innovation that we are implementing with the direct support of the British Council. We hope that this initiative will yield the results we expect and that our students' English language skills will reach at least an intermediate level. This will make a serious contribution to the realization of their future education and career plans."
