"The current behavior of some individuals who turned their backs on their country during its most difficult and sensitive periods, when our lands were under occupation, and fell under the influence of various circles abroad, causes serious concern.
Especially, uttering threats and insults against the President of Azerbaijan is absolutely unacceptable. Such behavior is neither a political struggle nor freedom of thought – it is a violation of elementary ethical norms and national dignity. Using aggressive and demeaning expressions against the head of one's own state in a foreign country can in no way be presented as democratic activity".
Modern.az reports that these remarks were made by Bəhruz Məmmədzadə, Chairman of the Public Union of Special Purpose Veterans, Martyrs' Families, and Veterans.
"It should not be forgotten that there are thousands of dignified and patriotic Azerbaijanis living in the USA and other countries. Regardless of where they live, they strive to protect the reputation of their country and approach national interests with sensitivity. Unfortunately, the emotional and irresponsible behavior of one group can form a negative opinion about our diaspora as a whole".

He stated that if the goal is truly to demonstrate a principled stance, then this principled approach should not be selective:
"The same determination must be shown against biased information campaigns, double standards, and overtly unjust approaches directed against Azerbaijan. Merely uttering harsh slogans directed inwards while remaining silent about pressures from abroad cannot be considered a consistent stance.
Criticism is the right of every citizen. However, when criticism turns into insult and threat, legal and moral boundaries are crossed. Aggressive behavior directed against the head of state in a foreign country is neither a democratic value nor an example of political culture. On the contrary, it damages the country's reputation and undermines national solidarity.
Regardless of political views, it is our duty to act responsibly, measuredly, and with dignity in national matters. Emotional outbursts and insulting language neither solve problems nor benefit society. A strong stance is demonstrated not by harsh slogans, but by reasoned and principled arguments," B. Məmmədzadə added.
