Azerbaijan has implemented a visa-free travel regime for citizens of several countries in 2026.
Modern.az reports that, according to information obtained from the Ministry of Foreign Affairs, Azerbaijan will unilaterally implement a visa-free regime for holders of ordinary passports from 9 countries and territories in 2026.
Thus, citizens holding ordinary passports of the Hong Kong and Macao Special Administrative Regions of China can enter Azerbaijan visa-free 3 times from February 2, 2026, to February 2, 2027, and stay for up to 30 days during each entry.
The visa-free regime for citizens of Saudi Arabia, Oman, Bahrain, and Kuwait is valid from February 15, 2026, to February 15, 2027. Citizens of these countries can enter Azerbaijan visa-free 3 times during this period and stay for up to 30 days on each entry.
The visa-free regime for citizens of Japan and the Republic of Korea will be applied from July 1, 2026, to July 1, 2027. They also have the right to enter Azerbaijan visa-free 3 times and stay for up to 30 days on each entry.
For citizens of Bosnia and Herzegovina and Singapore, the visa-free regime will be in force from August 1, 2026, to August 1, 2027. Citizens of these countries can enter Azerbaijan visa-free 3 times and stay for up to 30 days on each visit.
Thus, according to the current information from the Ministry of Foreign Affairs, the new visa-free regime implemented by Azerbaijan in 2026 covers the following destinations:
It should be noted that today Azerbaijan also signed agreements with the Dominican Republic and Colombia on mutual visa exemption for holders of ordinary passports.
One day earlier (September 23, 2026), an agreement on mutual exemption from visa requirements for holders of ordinary passports was also signed between Azerbaijan and Colombia.
It was added that the agreement will enter into force after the mutual exchange of passport samples and relevant verbal notes.
