The US has sold its first batch of Venezuelan oil.
Modern.az reports that the US has completed the first sale of Venezuelan oil worth 500 million dollars. The source added that more similar deals are expected in the coming days and weeks.
The identity of the oil buyer has not been specified.
It should be recalled that, after the attack on Venezuela and the arrest of President Nicolas Maduro, Donald Trump announced that Venezuela's interim government would transfer 30-50 million barrels of sanctioned oil to the US. Trump stated that, "This oil will be sold at market price, and I, as the President of the United States of America, will oversee to ensure that this money is used for the benefit of the people of Venezuela and the US".
According to US media reports, Trump and his advisors are preparing a large-scale plan to seize control over Venezuela's oil industry for years to come.
