French, British and US military personnel conducted a secret mine clearance operation in Omani territorial waters, in the Strait of Hormuz.

According to the information, the operation was carried out at the beginning of August 2026, shortly before the end of the 60-day ceasefire between the US and Iran. The said ceasefire ended on August 17.
It is reported that Oman appealed to Western allies for help in clearing underwater mines placed in the country's territorial waters. According to “Intelligence Online”, it is about mines reportedly placed by Iran.
It is noteworthy that the operation was carried out precisely before the end of the ceasefire. According to the information, the mine clearance mission carried out with the participation of France, Great Britain and the USA aimed to ensure shipping safety in the Strait of Hormuz.
