US President Donald Trump announced that the Strait of Hormuz has been cleared of mines.
Modern.az reports that he stated this on "Truth Social".
Trump emphasized that a zero-tolerance policy against the placement of new mines is in effect.
"The US Navy has just informed me that the international waters of the Strait of Hormuz have been cleared of mines. Iran has been warned that any ships or boats placing new mines will be immediately and systematically destroyed," he wrote.
Trump added that the US Space Force conducts regular monitoring throughout the entire area of the Strait of Hormuz. According to him, the same observation is carried out over "Pikeks-Mauntin" and three other previously destroyed Iranian nuclear facilities.
Earlier, according to information published in "Tasnim", Iran presented its conditions regarding the Strait of Hormuz to Pakistan as an intermediary. The main condition refers to Article 5 of the Islamabad Memorandum of Understanding - the Strait of Hormuz being under Iran's control.
