Russia has once again targeted Ukraine's energy sector at -20 degrees Celsius.

Modern.az reports that there are injured people and power outages in the cities of Kyiv and Kharkiv.

Timur Tkachenko, head of the Kyiv City Military Administration, stated that Kyiv was attacked with ballistic missiles. He wrote that "the Russians have decided to launch another massive strike on Kyiv in severe cold."

According to him, two people were injured as a result of the attack. The consequences of the strike were recorded in the Darnytskyi, Desnianskyi, Dniprovskyi, Pecherskyi, and Shevchenkivskyi districts of the Ukrainian capital. According to preliminary information, a 22-story residential building was damaged.

After the ballistic missile strikes on Kyiv, heating and electricity were cut off in many areas.

Additionally, Oleh Syniehubov, head of the regional administration, stated that Russian troops struck Kharkiv and its surrounding areas. Two people were injured in Kharkiv – a 27-year-old and a 58-year-old man. "The attacks are aimed at energy infrastructure. The goal is clear: to inflict maximum damage and leave the city without heating in severe cold," wrote Kharkiv Mayor Ihor Terekhov.

The Kremlin announced that Russia had agreed not to strike Kyiv until February 1. A day earlier, Volodymyr Zelenskyy stated that over the past 24 hours, Russia had shelled energy facilities along the front line and in border regions, but no targeted strikes on energy infrastructure had been carried out. He noted that the Russian army focused on "terrorism against logistics."
