Iran is strengthening its defense measures on Kharg Island against the possibility of a potential US intervention.
Modern.az reports that, according to CNN television, the republic's armed forces are deploying additional military personnel and air defense (AD) systems to the area. Furthermore, it is reported that anti-personnel and anti-tank mines are also being installed on the island.
According to the information, US officials warn that a potential ground operation carries high risks. In their opinion, Iran's multi-layered defense system could lead to significant casualties during such an operation.
It is noted that the situation in the region currently remains tense.
