The Prosecutor's Office has filed a property claim against Seyran Ohanyan, former Minister of Defense of the Republic of Armenia and head of the “Hayastan” faction in parliament.
Modern.az reports, citing 24News, that according to the prosecution's version, the property rights of the Republic of Armenia have been violated.
In the lawsuit, the prosecutor demanded the recovery of 13 million drams from Seyran Ohanyan in favor of the state as compensation for damages incurred by the state.
The court accepted the lawsuit for proceedings and noted that the final decision on the case will be made in the court's final act.
It should be noted that Seyran Ohanyan was the Minister of Defense of the former self-proclaimed regime in Karabakh in 2000-2007, and of Armenia in 2008-2016. S. Ohanyan, who participated in the First and Second Karabakh Wars, is one of those who committed the Khojaly genocide. In the 44-day war, he led the defense of Shusha as a military advisor to the “president” of the self-proclaimed regime.
