A Turkish Airlines plane caught fire while landing at Tribhuvan International Airport in Kathmandu.
Modern.az reports with reference to foreign media that it is an Airbus A330 aircraft flying from Istanbul. There were 273 passengers and 11 crew members on board the plane. After smoke was detected, everyone on the plane was quickly evacuated via inflatable slides, and the airport's operations were temporarily suspended.
According to information, the landing was uneventful, but smoke was observed in the chassis part of the aircraft while it was moving on the taxiway.
According to preliminary information, the incident was caused by hydraulic fluid entering the brake system, which led to a fire. Firefighters extinguished the flames within a few minutes.
