The Stockholm International Peace Research Institute (SIPRI) has published a list of countries that allocate the most funds to defense in its 2025 report.
Modern.az reports that the US leads the list with a military budget of 954 billion dollars. This figure accounts for approximately 33 percent of global defense spending.
China is in second place with 336 billion dollars. Beijing's share of world military spending is 12 percent.
Russia is in third place with 190 billion dollars. Moscow's share of global defense spending is 6.6 percent.
The defense expenditures of other countries on the list are as follows:

India – 92.1 billion dollars
United Kingdom – 89 billion dollars
Ukraine – 84.1 billion dollars
Saudi Arabia – 83.2 billion dollars
France – 68 billion dollars
Japan – 62.2 billion dollars
Israel – 48.3 billion dollars
Italy – 48.1 billion dollars
South Korea – 47.8 billion dollars
Poland – 46.8 billion dollars
The report notes that in 2025, total global defense spending reached 2 trillion 887 billion dollars, setting a new historical record.
