Discussions are underway around Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu and within the ruling coalition regarding the timing of parliamentary elections.
Modern.az reports that “Israel Hayom” has published information on this matter.
According to the information, Netanyahu is in favor of holding the elections at the end of October, as previously planned. However, some individuals around him and representatives of the "Shas" party suggest moving the vote to early September.
It is stated that if this option is accepted, a bill on the dissolution of the Knesset could be brought to the agenda in the coming weeks.
The publication notes that an early election decision could result in the abandonment of a number of bills that the coalition planned to adopt during the summer session. These include the law on military conscription, the division of powers of the government's legal advisor, and the establishment of a parity commission for investigation.
