In talks held in the US between Lebanon and Israel, a decision was made to extend the ceasefire agreed upon in April for another 45 days.
Modern.az reports that US State Department spokesperson Tommy Pigott shared this on his social media account.
"The United States held two days of extremely productive talks between Israel and Lebanon on May 14-15. The ceasefire agreed on April 16 will be extended for another 45 days," he said.
According to him, the State Department plans to organize another meeting with Israel and Lebanon on June 2-3. On May 29, a meeting on security issues will be held at the Pentagon with the participation of representatives from both countries. Pigott emphasized his hope that the talks would lead to long-term peace between Lebanon and Israel.
