US Secretary of State Marco Rubio, who is on a visit to Armenia, spoke about the TRIPP (Trump Route – Zangezur Corridor) project.
According to Modern.az, Rubio stated that the Trump route opens the way to peace for Armenia and the South Caucasus region.
Rubio stated this at a joint briefing with Armenian Foreign Minister Ararat Mirzoyan at “Zvartnots” airport in Yerevan.
Before the briefing, documents on the TRIPP project, as well as cooperation in the extraction and processing of mineral resources, were signed.
Rubio noted that it is a great honor for him to sign the cooperation agreement within the framework of the TRIPP project, and this is a historic step. According to him, this is the path to peace for Armenia and the region.
He stated that cooperation is not limited to this, the main goal is to develop relations for the welfare of both peoples. For this purpose, a document on the extraction and processing of critically important minerals was signed. According to Rubio, in the 21st century, this area provides economic independence and access to new technologies. The Secretary of State added that Armenia and the United States are ready to work together to ensure reliable access to minerals for their economies.
According to him, the activities of the Armenian team open the way to a better future for the country. “We are happy to support this and are ready to work for the future. We are proud to be a part of this and are ready to do greater things together,” Rubio promised.
