According to the forecast, in 2075, the number of working-age population in Taiwan, aged 15-64, may be only 5.13 million people.
In contrast, the number of people over 65 is expected to reach 6.43 million.
Such demographic decline could lead to a serious labor shortage in Taiwan.
It is reported that the sharp decrease in population could become a serious problem not only for Taiwan's economy but also for the country's defense capabilities in the long term.
