Russian President Vladimir Putin said that if the stage of negotiations with Ukraine is reached, meetings can be held in Minsk. He recalled that in 2022, Russian-Ukrainian negotiations began in the Belarusian capital.
Modern.az reports that, according to Putin, Belarusian President Alexander Lukashenka "is ready to fully support all initiatives aimed at a peaceful resolution of disputed issues."
"I am sure that if negotiations ever begin, Belarus's capabilities can also be used," the Russian leader said in an interview with Pavel Zarubin, a correspondent for the All-Russian State Television and Radio Company.
On June 4, Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelensky addressed an open letter to Vladimir Putin. Zelensky proposed holding negotiations on the settlement of the conflict in a third country - Switzerland, Turkey or one of the Arab states.
The Ukrainian president refused to hold talks in Moscow. In response, Putin said that he currently sees no point in holding a personal meeting with Zelensky.
