French President Emmanuel Macron's blue, reflective aviator glasses, which he has been wearing at official events recently, are in the spotlight of the international community and media. The French leader's use of this accessory in indoor venues, official diplomatic receptions, and even night events has sparked widespread discussions on social media.

E. Macron first appeared with the said glasses at an official meeting with King Maha Vajiralongkorn and Queen Suthida of Thailand, and later at the 9th World Congress Against the Death Penalty. The French leader most recently attended an official reception hosted by Turkish President Recep Tayyip Erdoğan and his wife Emine Erdoğan within the framework of the NATO Summit with these glasses. Macron's failure to remove his glasses in the official family photo taken with the participation of heads of state and government caused confusion in the international press.
Answering media questions about his choice of glasses, Macron gave a different meaning to this move, using the phrase "Tiger's eye" and claiming that it is a symbol of leadership, determination, and perseverance. However, image makers and optical experts stated that the blue lenses in question do not have a special protective function for eye health, and the choice is more for attracting attention.
After investigations by the French press, it was revealed that behind this move, which Macron presented as an "image," there was actually a compulsory medical reason. It turned out that the head of the Élysée Palace is suffering from subconjunctival hemorrhage (rupture of capillary vessels in the eye).
According to medical experts, this discomfort is completely harmless, does not cause any pain, and does not affect vision. This condition, which creates a red spot visually in the eye, usually disappears on its own within two weeks and leaves no permanent complications.
