Mutual attacks between the US and Iran further complicate talks aimed at stopping the war.
Modern.az reports that Kaya Kallas, the European Union's High Representative for Foreign Affairs and Security Policy, made a post about this on the X social network.
She noted that Iran's attacks on Bahrain and Kuwait are unacceptable:
"According to the memorandum, Tehran had undertaken to reopen the Strait of Hormuz for shipping. However, recent attacks on ships near the strait indicate a violation of this commitment and jeopardize the restoration of energy resource supplies to world markets."
The EU official stated that the freedom of international shipping must be ensured without hindrance:
"Next Monday, the foreign ministers of the European Union member states will hold a meeting with the foreign ministers of the Persian Gulf countries. The meeting will discuss support for the implementation of the agreement reached between the US and Iran, and joint steps towards protecting freedom of navigation in the Strait of Hormuz and the Red Sea."
