Turkey has taken another step towards normalizing relations with Armenia.
Modern.az reports that Turkey's pro-government newspaper "Sabah" published information about this.
According to the information, the Turkish Ministry of Trade has carried out a technical regulation in the customs system within the framework of the normalization process.
According to the new rules, the official country code of Armenia, "077", can be used in customs declarations for import, export and transit operations carried out with Armenia through third countries. Relevant changes have already been integrated into the BILGE platform, Turkey's customs information system.
As a result of the change, it will be possible to indicate "Armenia" as the point of origin or final destination of goods sent from Turkey to a third country and from there to Armenia.
According to the information, the trade turnover between Turkey and Armenia currently amounts to approximately 335-350 million dollars. If the borders are opened, it is aimed to bring this indicator to 1 billion dollars.
