Azerbaijani Foreign Minister Jeyhun Bayramov emphasized that there is a high probability of signing a peace agreement with Armenia in 2026.

Modern.az reports that the minister stated this in an interview with ITV.

"Of course, no one can give a 100% guarantee, but I am optimistic about this possibility," Jeyhun Bayramov stated.

"The completion of the peace process with Azerbaijan is in Armenia's own interests, so I believe that such a possibility is very high," the minister added.

According to J. Bayramov, he does not think this will be easy. In his opinion, as before, there will be attempts by third countries to disrupt this process.

The minister believes that, considering the history of relations between the two countries, it is unlikely that the signing of a peace agreement will lead to close friendship and full-fledged good-neighborly relations between Azerbaijan and Armenia shortly thereafter.

"And this should be accepted with understanding," he emphasized.

The head of the Azerbaijani Foreign Ministry added that the process of normalizing relations between Baku and Yerevan has been ongoing for the past two years.

"I believe that within such a short period, the normalization process between the victorious country and the defeated country is progressing very rapidly," he noted.

J. Bayramov also expressed the opinion that the implementation of the “Trump route” (TRIPP) project would lead to the emergence of common economic interests between Azerbaijan and Armenia.
