The current structure of international organizations, especially the UN Security Council, does not reflect the realities of the modern world. The voice of the Global South is not sufficiently heard in this p, and fair geographical representation has not been ensured.
Modern.az reports that Assistant to the President – Head of the Foreign Policy Affairs Department of the Presidential Administration Hikmet Hajiyev said these words during his speech at the first General Assembly of the Global South NGO Platform within the framework of "Baku Urban Planning Week".
According to him, we believe that during the reform process of the UN Security Council, the voice of the Global South and its fair representation must be ensured. Azerbaijan is a key supporter of multilateralism, but unfortunately, we see the paralysis of multilateralism and multilateral institutions. The countries of the Global South will continue to effectively contribute to the strengthening of these institutions.
