The Y-chromosome (Y-DNA) results of Misir Mardanov, director of the Institute of Mathematics and Mechanics of ANAS, former Minister of Education of Azerbaijan, doctor of physical and mathematical sciences, professor, have been announced.
Modern.az reports that Orkhan Khansuvar, administrator of the Azerbaijan DNA project, genetic researcher and researcher on hereditary diseases, shared a post about this on his "Facebook" account.
He noted that the Y-DNA result of our compatriot, whose paternal lineage is from Salah village of Ijevan (Karvansara) region of Western Azerbaijan, from the Damirlilar lineage and Mardanov surname, has been identified as the CTS1460 subclade of the J1 haplogroup:
"This subclade is considered one of the oldest mutations in the Caucasus and has been found in paleodna samples taken in both Armenia and Georgia. This subclade is accepted as the genetic continuation of the Kura-Araxes culture. Misir Mardanov, director of the Institute of Mathematics and Mechanics of ANAS, former Minister of Education of Azerbaijan, doctor of physical and mathematical sciences, professor, is precisely from this lineage. This result shows that Misir muallim's paternal ancestors are from the local and archaic lineages that lived in these lands 6000 years ago."
According to the genetic researcher, this subclade has also been found in the Dümələ lineage in Amirxeyir village and the Doluxanlı lineage in Salah village in Western Azerbaijan: "As tests increase, it will become clear that this subclade is widespread, especially in Western Azerbaijan and among Azerbaijani Turks."
He stated that the test is personal and is included in our project's database with a scientific work number.
"Salah village belonged to the Gazakh district of the Yelizavetpol Governorate, which was established on the basis of the Tsar's decree of December 9, 1867, on the change of the administration of the Caucasus and Transcaucasia region. These tribes mainly belong to the Qaraqoyunlu Turkic people," O. Khansuvar wrote.
