In recent days, discontent has increased within Armenia's ruling "Civil Contract" party against the Speaker of Parliament, Alen Simonyan.
Modern.az reports that the "Zhoghovurd" newspaper, citing sources close to the government, states that during meetings of the party's board discussing the 2026 parliamentary elections, Simonyan took a harsh stance against his party members.
The newspaper claims that the speaker tried to present the deputies in an unfavorable light in the eyes of Prime Minister Nikol Pashinyan.
