Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelenskyy has signed a decree providing for the imposition of sanctions against maritime vessels allegedly belonging to Russia's “shadow fleet”.

Modern.az reports that the document was published on the head of state's official website.

A total of 91 vessels sailing under the flags of Liberia, Palau, Indonesia, Sierra Leone, Panama, the Union of the Comoros, and other countries have been included in the sanctions list. It was noted that only one of these vessels officially belongs to the Russian Federation.

Zelenskyy has regularly imposed sanctions against Russian natural and legal persons, as well as against citizens and companies of other countries accused by Ukraine of cooperation with Moscow.

Relevant lists are prepared by the respective ministries and agencies, proposals are submitted, and final decisions are made by the National Security and Defense Council of Ukraine.
