In Iran, serious questions have arisen in the absence of the late Supreme Leader Ayatollah Ali Khamenei, who for many years stood at the center of the country's political decisions.

Modern.az reports that analysts speaking to CNN stated this.

They recalled Khamenei, who for decades was known for his weekly speeches, interventions, and strategic decisions, particularly his direct influence on processes during nuclear negotiations in the Barak Obama era, and noted that at the current stage, Khamenei's assassination and his son Mojtaba Khamenei's hasty declaration as successor are seen as the beginning of a new and uncertain phase in the country.

According to analysts, one of the striking points is that the new leader has not appeared in public and has not made direct appeals. They suggest that even his first message being read by an anchor via state television increases doubts about the real governance mechanisms of the government.

Interestingly, these processes coincide with a period of intensified diplomatic contacts between Iran and the United States. Experts believe that the main question is what role the new leader plays in these negotiations: does he control the process, or has a de facto governance vacuum emerged in the country?

Considering that in Iran's traditional political model, no international agreement is possible without the explicit support of the supreme leader, the current situation is also evaluated as the beginning of a new political phase.

Analysts speaking to CNN state that if this uncertainty continues, questions about Iran's internal political system and foreign policy course will deepen further.
