Experts warn that makeup cannot replace adequate sun protection, and exposure to ultraviolet radiation accelerates skin aging and increases the risk of oncological diseases.

Modern.az reports that, according to Swedish dermatologist Shivan Dilshad, sun damage accumulates gradually and may only become noticeable years later, which makes its prevention particularly difficult among young people. “After winter, many people want to get a tan, but even if the sun's rays are not yet very strong, it is important to be careful now,” the dermatologist emphasizes.

Experts also note that the skin is not only damaged by tanning in the sun. Ultraviolet radiation causes wrinkles, age spots, and increases the risk of skin cancer, including melanoma and squamous cell carcinoma.

Special attention is paid to popular trends on social media. According to a study by “Verian”, approximately 20 percent of women aged 18-29 believe that it is more advisable to tan during periods of high sun exposure.

Experts emphasize that the SPF protection level of most cosmetic products is 10-15, which is not enough to effectively protect the skin. It is recommended to use sunscreens with an SPF of at least 30, apply them generously, and reapply them throughout the day.

As primary protective measures, experts recommend staying in the shade, wearing protective clothing, and limiting time in the sun during peak hours of ultraviolet radiation.
