Indian-based "Adani Enterprises" company has agreed to pay $275 million to Washington due to alleged violations of US sanctions against Iran.

Modern.az reports with reference to TASS that the US Department of the Treasury's Office of Foreign Assets Control issued a statement on this matter.

According to the information, "Adani Enterprises" took this step to prevent a possible lawsuit regarding non-compliance with sanctions against Iran.

The US side claims that the company purchased liquefied petroleum gas from Iran through a Dubai-based trader from November 2023 to June 2025. It is reported that the fuel was presented as a product of Omani and Iraqi origin. Despite Washington's restrictions against Tehran, US-based financial institutions carried out 32 transactions with the participation of "Adani Enterprises" totaling over $192 million.

"Adani Enterprises" is the flagship company of "Adani Group," a large Indian industrial conglomerate. The group operates in the energy, agriculture, and defense industries. The conglomerate includes 14 of the largest private seaports and seven airports in India.
