The regulatory p has not ruled out an increase in electricity tariffs in Armenia.
Modern.az reports with reference to local media that the head of the local p, Mesrop Mesropyan, stated that a possible increase in gas prices could lead to an increase in electricity tariffs in Armenia.
According to him, approximately 30-35% of electricity in Armenia is produced by gas-fired thermal power plants, so an increase in fuel prices could affect tariffs.
However, he noted that he could neither confirm nor rule out changes in gas prices, emphasizing that tariffs are reviewed annually based on various factors.
Mesropyan added that even in the worst-case scenario, thanks to the development of solar, hydroelectric, and nuclear energy, Armenia will not face an energy crisis on the scale of the 1990s.
