Iranian state television announced that an initial, unofficial framework agreement project has been reached between Tehran and the US regarding the cessation of the conflict.
Modern.az reports that, according to the disseminated information, the project envisages Iran restoring commercial shipping through the Strait of Hormuz to pre-war levels within one month.
In return, the withdrawal of US forces from regions around Iran and the lifting of the naval blockade are planned.
According to the information, the framework agreement, which does not cover warships, envisages Iran controlling shipping through the strait in cooperation with Oman.
The Iranian side stated that the document has not yet taken its final form and Tehran will not take any steps without a "real verification".
State television added that if a final agreement is reached within 60 days, the document can be approved as a binding resolution of the UN Security Council.
It was noted that the memorandum of understanding expected to be prepared between the US and Iran is the result of indirect negotiations conducted after the war that began in February.
According to the information, Pakistan acted as the main mediator between Tehran and Washington in the negotiations.
