Lilit Makunts, former Armenian Ambassador to the US and Chief Advisor to Prime Minister Nikol Pashinyan, has refused a possible appointment to the position of Speaker of Parliament.
Modern.az reports that "Hraparak" newspaper published this information.
According to the publication, Makunts's decision is related to the dissatisfaction of the members of the ruling "Civil Contract" Party. Within the party, it was believed that it would not be right to appoint Makunts, who previously served as ambassador to the US, to the post of speaker, while there are deputies who have worked in parliament for many years.
