According to allegations, at the beginning of negotiations with Iran, the White House learned that Ghalibaf was on Israel's target list and asked Tel Aviv to refrain from a possible assassination attempt against him. At the same time, the Iranian side demanded guarantees from the US that Israel would not conduct secret operations during the negotiations.
According to information, while returning from Pakistan, Iranian security forces discovered that Israel planned to attack the plane carrying Ghalibaf. For this purpose, it is alleged that two Israeli fighter jets entered Iranian airspace from the direction of Iraq. Therefore, the plane made an emergency landing at a nearby airport and the delegation continued its journey by land transport.
