Today, the funeral ceremony of Iran's Supreme Leader, Seyyed Ali Khamenei, is being held. The Supreme Leader, who lost his life on February 28 during US-Israeli coalition airstrikes, is being buried more than 100 days after his death.

Modern.az reports, citing foreign media, that this delay has become one of the most unusual and politically sensitive moments of Iran's post-war transition period. While high-ranking military personnel and officials who died during the war have already been buried, the long delay in Khamenei's funeral is not considered consistent with the tradition of the Shia sect, as Shia jurisprudence recommends that burial be carried out as soon as possible.

Furthermore, this situation has fueled rumors about the condition of Khamenei's p. According to leaked media reports, the bodies of other Iranians who died with him were severely damaged and were identified weeks later through DNA tests.

It is believed that Khamenei's p is most likely preserved, but its public display seems difficult.

Since Islam prohibits chemical embalming, it is more realistic to keep the p in special refrigerated conditions. Shia law, however, allows for the delay of burial and the storage of the p in refrigerated conditions in special cases.

The expert added that it is common for bodies to be kept in forensic morgues for months, and storage in a freezer for 4 months is not considered unusual.
