France will send its military contingent to Finland.
Modern.az reports that "Reuters" agency disseminated information about this, citing a source in the Finnish Presidential Administration.
It is reported that France will be one of the first alliance countries to join the new NATO military contingent formed near the Finland-Russia border.
This military unit will operate as part of NATO's advanced ground forces.
It should be noted that the multinational military contingent deployed in Lapland was created to strengthen security along the country's border with Russia after Finland joined NATO in 2023. The deployment of the contingent began in June 2026 and this process is led by Sweden.
