Turkish President Recep Tayyip Erdoğan announced that Turkish F-16s will be deployed in Estonia starting from August.
Modern.az reports that Erdoğan said this at a press conference held after the NATO summit.
Erdoğan stated that Turkey has always fulfilled its obligations to NATO properly and is ready to take on more responsibility in the new era of the alliance.
“We have always been an ally that properly fulfills its obligations within NATO, takes responsibility for this purpose, and pays the price when necessary. In this new era, where the alliance has made collective defense its main priority again, we are ready to take on more responsibility within the framework of fair burden sharing. Our F-16s will be deployed in Estonia as part of NATO's Air Policing Mission starting from August,” Erdoğan said.
