The number of people who lost their lives as a result of two strong earthquakes that occurred in Venezuela in June has exceeded 5,000.
Modern.az reports with reference to foreign media that the speaker of the country's parliament, Jorge Rodriguez, informed about this.
According to him, as a result of the natural disaster, 190 buildings were completely destroyed, and another 856 buildings were seriously damaged.
Officials said thousands of families have been left homeless. Currently, more than 21,000 people live in temporary accommodation camps.
The authorities announced that work is continuing to remove the destruction and provide assistance to the victims.
