A woman who came to our country as a tourist met an Azerbaijani citizen.
Modern.az reports that, according to claims, the person embezzled 25 thousand dollars from the woman. Olga Chernovska, originally from Poland, met a person named Rashkhan when she came to Azerbaijan for a holiday in 2024. A relationship developed between them. Later, the woman returned to her country and sent money to that person at different times at his request.
"During the year our relationship continued, he took 25 thousand US dollars from me by abusing my trust. I applied to the Ministry of Internal Affairs in Baku. Then they gave the case for investigation in Sumgayit, where he lives," said the victim.
Baku TV contacted the accused person. The person's statement was as follows:
"I borrowed money from him. This is not embezzlement. There is a big enough difference between a loan and embezzlement. I also told him that this is a debt between us. I am returning it in installments. I have a relative who is currently in Poland. I send money to him, and he gives it hand-to-hand there."
Lawyer Mircavid Miriyev stated that such people systematically deceive foreign citizens under the guise of debt and ask for money.
