Political protests that began in Iran in the last days of last year have moved to the political sphere.
Modern.az reports that protests are intensifying across the country, with demonstrators attacking government buildings and resisting representatives of the current government.
It is reported that the cities of Asadabad (Hamedan province), Azna, and Goudasht (Lorestan province) have come completely under the control of the protesters.
Four more cities have joined the protests against the current government: Qom, Havar, and Nahavand, as well as the strategically important port city of Bandar Abbas.
Bandar Abbas port handles a significant portion of container cargo, oil exports, and imports of essential goods, playing a central role in supporting Iran's economy and regional trade.
In the cities of Chaharmahal and Bakhtiari, protesters are attempting to enter the local Basij department, while clashes with riot police are occurring in Khorramabad. Protests are escalating in Marvdasht, Hamadan, and Abadan. Protesters report that Basij forces are being transported by ambulance, and security forces are wearing civilian clothes to conceal themselves.
The main slogans of the protesters were: "Death to the dictator", "This is the last battle", "Death to Khamenei" and "Freedom! Freedom!" calls.
