According to TASS, the riots reached their peak on the evening of January 8. On that day, at least 13 civilians, including one child, were killed by rioters. Authorities reported that 38 law enforcement officers died. Tehran Mayor Alireza Zakani stated that rioters burned 25 mosques in the capital, damaged 26 banks, three medical centers, 10 government institutions, over 100 fire trucks, buses, and ambulances, as well as 24 apartments.
