US First Lady Melania Trump announced that she had received a letter from Russian President Vladimir Putin discussing the return of Ukrainian children and the reunification process of families separated as a result of the war.
Modern.az reports that “Newsweek” published information on this matter.
This is a response to her appeal last year to Putin, calling on him to protect the "innocence" of children born in Ukraine and facilitate their return to their families.
The US President's wife stated that she received a direct response from Putin last year to her request, and her representatives are currently in contact with the Russian side.
"He wrote me a response letter. My representative is in contact with them [the Russian side - ed.] and we are still working on reuniting more children with their families," the First Lady noted.
Although Melania Trump did not publish the text of the letter or disclose specific agreements, she expressed cautious optimism regarding the outcomes of these discussions.
"I hope that we will soon achieve great success again. It is very pleasant to see all these children and parents happy," the First Lady noted.
