Official Tehran will not agree to the removal of enriched uranium from the country and, on the contrary, despite the claims of the United States, stated that no commitment has been made regarding this issue.
Modern.az reports that Ebrahim Rezai, a representative of Iran's National Security Council, stated this in an interview with Al-Jazeera.
Rezai noted that Tehran “categorically rejects” any demand to stop uranium enrichment or abandon its peaceful nuclear program, as it considers this a strategic “red line.”
Esmail Baqai, a representative of the Iranian Ministry of Foreign Affairs, also rejected Donald Trump's statements.
“Enriched uranium is as sacred to us as Iranian soil and will not be given anywhere under any circumstances,” Baqai said.
US President Donald Trump had previously repeatedly stated that Iran would hand over its enriched uranium reserves.
