White House leader Donald Trump has stated that the US will not lift the blockade of Iranian ports until an agreement is reached with Iran.
Modern.az reports that in a post on Truth Social, Trump wrote that the blockade "completely destroyed Iran" and would remain in effect until an "agreement" was reached. He claimed that the country was losing approximately $500 million a day, calling it "an unsustainable event even in the short term."
Meanwhile, Iranian Parliament Speaker Mohammad Bagher Ghalibaf wrote on his X account: “Trump wants to turn this negotiating table into a surrender table by imposing a siege and violating the ceasefire, or to justify renewed hostilities in his own way. We do not accept negotiations under the shadow of threats and are preparing to show new cards on the battlefield in the last two weeks.”
