"There is a 12 km delimited and demarcated section of the border with Azerbaijan, where the service is carried out by the Border Troops of the Republic of Armenia. This is an important and exceptional case."
Modern.az reports that Armenian Prime Minister Nikol Pashinyan stated this at an event organized on the occasion of the Border Guard Day of the National Security Service.
"This 12 km section is probably the only section of the Armenia-Azerbaijan border where representatives of the armed forces of both countries serve without helmets, without bulletproof vests, and the magazines of automatic rifles are placed in bags, not on the automatic rifles," Pashinyan said.
He noted that in the near future, the delimitation of the border between Armenia and Azerbaijan will continue and will be completed within logical timeframes.
"The agenda also includes the issue of finalizing the delimitation of our border with Georgia, and we have already reached agreements with our Georgian partners on this," Pashinyan added.
