Iran has agreed to a long-term freeze of its nuclear program, but on one condition: Tehran will give 400 kg of highly enriched uranium to Russia, not to the United States. This is one of the main details of the updated Iranian peace proposal submitted to Washington via Pakistan.

According to information leaked to the TV channel, the updated Iranian proposal envisages a multi-stage ceasefire with a political formula that will allow Tehran to “protect itself.”
Iran is ready to freeze, not abolish, its nuclear program. 400 kg of highly enriched uranium is planned to be given to Russia.
Regarding the Strait of Hormuz, Iran proposes a phased and safe opening of the strait with the participation of Pakistan and Oman as guarantors. At the same time, it is proposed to separate the sea route from the nuclear issue.
More complex issues such as the nuclear program and uranium enrichment are reserved for later stages of negotiations.
According to the “Axios” portal, an American official considers the updated proposal only a slight improvement compared to the previous version and believes that it is not enough for an agreement. Washington has so far only agreed to release a quarter of Iran's frozen assets, while Tehran wants this position to be reconsidered.
Iran's “Tasnim” agency reported that the US has agreed to apply a temporary exception to oil sanctions during the negotiations, but official Tehran has not confirmed this.
In Israel, there are concerns that Donald Trump could conclude a compromise agreement with Tehran without resolving key security issues.
There is also no unity within the Trump administration: some officials, especially representatives of the Ministry of Defense, support a tougher stance against Iran, while others advocate diplomacy.
Meanwhile, Trump said that “time is running out for Iran” and threatened consequences if a “more favorable deal” is rejected. He also said that he expects an updated proposal from Tehran.
