Today, British Prime Minister Keir Starmer and Polish Prime Minister Donald Tusk will sign an agreement on cooperation in security and defense in London.
Modern.az reports that the press service of the British government released information about this.
It was stated that the document will cover issues of border protection, combating organized crime, strengthening collective defense, and deepening cooperation with the European Union.
Keir Starmer noted that the agreement is an important step in defense and security relations between Britain and Poland.
“This document will allow us to more effectively combat modern security threats. These threats are sometimes less visible, but no less dangerous. The agreement also confirms my commitment to closer cooperation with partners in Europe, strengthening security, creating new opportunities for our citizens, and ensuring stability,” Starmer said.
According to him, within the framework of the initiative, joint ground forces will conduct large-scale exercises to increase operational compatibility in the areas of unmanned aerial vehicles, electronic warfare, and engineering support.
The British government also stated that Starmer plans to discuss the issue of “increasing hybrid attacks” in Europe with Donald Tusk.
It should be noted that earlier, Keir Starmer's government also signed similar security agreements with France and Germany. Russia was indicated as the main threat in the agreement.
