The head of NASA said that China could land a human on the Moon sooner than the US, but Washington plans to implement a long-term lunar program.
Modern.az reports that the head of the US National Aeronautics and Space Administration (NASA), Jared Isaacman, spoke about this in an interview with CBS.
According to him, Chinese taikonauts will land on the Moon, and there is no doubt about it.
"The main question is whether the US will return to the Moon before them and whether it can do it differently this time. We want to build a base on the Moon and create a long-term presence there. I think we will achieve this," Isaacman said.
The head of NASA added that the race for space is currently ongoing, and China is moving very quickly in this direction.
It should be noted that NASA plans to build a habitat on the Moon by 2032. Within the framework of these missions, the agency intends to test the necessary technologies for a future manned flight to Mars.
