Russia is forcibly sending an Azerbaijani citizen to the war in Ukraine.

According to information obtained by Modern.az, Tural Haqiqat oglu Aliyev, an Azerbaijani citizen serving in the Russian army, has released a video message stating that he was illegally sent to the war zone by the military command.

Tural Aliyev, born on October 20, 1994, despite being an Azerbaijani citizen, began contract military service in the Russian Army in 2023. He participated in several offensive operations.

He stated that despite being officially discharged from military service, he was illegally accused of "arbitrary abandonment of a military unit." Currently, it is claimed that he has been sent against his will to the combat zone, to the "Storm V" assault group.

The Azerbaijani citizen stated that his passport has expired and he does not have a military ID. He claims that instead, he was given a fake certificate about the replacement of a document he never possessed, and after that, he was sent back to the combat zone.

The Azerbaijani citizen spoke about systemic illegalities in the Russian army, falsification of documents, illegal detention in a pre-trial detention center, and threats from the command.

In his appeal, Tural Aliyev stated that he would fight to the end.

"Do you want to eliminate me? Know that I will take all your dogs with me to the other world. I have nothing left to lose," he said in his video message.

According to his claim, on May 2, 2026, he was directly told, "they want to eliminate you." Aliyev stated that this was related to him having compromising information about the command and making what happened public.

Tural Aliyev also claims that the prosecutor has been pressuring the command of the military unit for a long time. According to him, the prosecutor demanded that he either be sent to the front line or returned to the pre-trial detention center. The Azerbaijani citizen states that these processes occurred despite the order of the Russian Minister of Defense to discharge him from military service and the court's decision to stop the criminal proceedings in his case.

According to Aliyev, approximately 40 court hearings were held regarding his case. He claims that his rights and the evidence he presented were not taken into account in these hearings, and some documents were falsified.
