New leaks regarding the iPhone 18 Pro Max model, which Apple is expected to introduce next year, indicate a significant improvement in the device's battery life. While earlier reports claimed that the smartphone's battery capacity would increase slightly, the latest information reveals a different picture. According to information released in February, the Chinese version of the iPhone 18 Pro Max was reported to come with a 5,000 mAh battery, and the US version with a battery between 5,100-5,200 mAh. For comparison, the currently available iPhone 17 Pro Max has a 4,823 mAh battery in the Chinese version and a 5,088 mAh battery in the US version. However, the popular leak source Digital Chat Station now claims to have discovered different indicators in the Chinese regulatory database. According to the information, the iPhone 18 Pro Max model intended for the US market may be equipped with a 5,567 mAh battery.
If this information turns out to be true, the battery capacity of the new model will have increased by approximately 9.5 percent compared to the iPhone 17 Pro Max. This is significantly higher than the mere 2 percent increase mentioned in previous estimates and could promise users a noticeably longer battery life. On the other hand, no major changes are expected for the standard iPhone 18 Pro model. According to the leak, the US version of the device will have a 4,288 mAh battery. In the current iPhone 17 Pro, this figure is 4,252 mAh. It should be noted that since both pieces of information come from the same source, their accuracy has not yet been confirmed. Nevertheless, if the new figures reflect reality, the iPhone 18 Pro Max could receive one of the biggest battery updates in recent years.
